From 7 August 2025, Pearson is introducing major updates to the PTE Academic test, widely used for study and migration to Australia.
What’s Changing?
- New tasks: Summarise Group Discussion & Respond to a Situation test real communication skills.
- Longer test: Now about 2 hrs 15 mins with 65–75 questions.
- Clearer scoring: Tasks now count for one skill only, making results easier to understand.
- Hybrid marking: AI + human examiners ensure fairer results.
New English Language Requirements (From 7 August 2025)
The DHA revised the PTE Academic benchmarks across different English proficiency levels. Here’s how the standards have shifted:
