To qualify for the Subclass 500 Student Visa, you must meet the following criteria:
You must provide a CoE from an Australian educational institution confirming your enrollment in a registered course.
The new English language requirements apply to all Student and Temporary Graduate visa applications lodged on and after the 23 March 2024.

The minimum test score for a Student visa has increased from International English Language Testing System(IELTS) score 5.5 to 6.0 (or equivalent) .

The minimum test score for students undertaking an English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) course before their main course of study has increased from IELTS score 4.5 to 5.0 (or equivalent).

The minimum test score required for students undertaking university foundation or pathway programs that deliver reputable English language training is IELTS 5.5 (or equivalent).
All international students in Australia must obtain Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of their stay. OSHC is a mandatory health insurance that helps cover the cost of medical and hospital care, which can be substantial in Australia.
You will need to undergo health examinations and provide police clearance certificates to meet the health and character criteria.
You must demonstrate that you genuinely intend to stay in Australia temporarily for study purposes and will return to your home country after completing your education.
You need to show that you have sufficient funds to cover your course fees, travel expenses, and living costs for yourself and any accompanying family members.
